Old McDonald is a thing of the past.

For my documentary project this semester, I am going to be looking at historical barns and their preservation and adaptive reuse in Georgia.

There’s always been something about run-down barns on the side of the road that have drawn me in, and I’m excited to take this opportunity to be able to find out how these structures are being protected and used on the modern farm today.

The majority of my sources on the matter will come from a list of speakers at the Southeastern Regional Barn Conference at the end of September.

A few properties that I will be documenting in depth will include Rock Barn in Canton, Ga., and Hyde Farm along the Chattahoochee River.
