mexico: the sabbath

On Sunday we were back in Cancun. The second team had arrived Saturday evening, and we were all ready to enjoy a day of rest before our next round of clinics.

We went to two different churches…both with very different styles. Not so different from America. One contemporary, one more traditional. Both worshipping the same God with everything that was in them.

The first church met in empty concrete office building…

And the second in a small building amongst the residential streets of Cancun…

As a group, we discussed how at both churches there was a passion in their worship and no need for performance or production. It was inspiring and convicting, and a picture of what worship should be…which so many of us just miss so many times.

“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

John 4:23-24
