Okay so. Fall is my absolute favorite season ever. I adore everything about it. The weather, the leaves changing, the colors, the smells, …the food. I could go on and on. I really think we might drink pumpkin spice lattes in heaven. Seriously.
Many of you know that one of my favorite authors of late is Shauna Neiquist. If I could hope or dream of writing like her and Anne Lamott mashed together…I think I’d cry. Sometimes when I read their books, I laugh out loud, and talk to them as if they can hear me through the pages. “Oh Shauna/Anne, that’s exactly how I feel. How did you know? I’m so glad I’m not the only one…want to be best friends?”
In the silence of my room, I’m convinced the pages respond “Yes!”
Anyways, imagine my dismay when, as I sat in a room filled with the smell of cinnamon and happiness, I read her blog post saying that fall was not only not her favorite season, but her least favorite.
I nearly choked on my pumpkin roll.
And I rethought our friendship in this moment, I’ll be honest.
I’ve decided to chalk it all up to the fact that Shauna does not experience fall in the South. Where it is, undoubtedly, the most wonderful time of the year.
Anyways, the point of all of this is to share that, in the spirit of fall (and everything wonderful and good, in my opinion) I wanted to share some images from a shoot I did a couple of weeks ago for a friend from my church…
See…how could you not love fall?
